This is part of our larger DIY blog post: "Dollar (.25) Tree Easter Baskets"
Check out our TikTok tutorial here!
This Easter I was presented with a predicament. My Sister-in-Law had given birth ~3 weeks prior to Easter and we were to meet the baby for the first time on Easter! Of course we wanted to give an Easter gift the baby but what do you get a three week old?! They can't eat anything, they can't play with much, they already have more than enough stuffed animals....so what do we do?!
I decided to head down the path that I always prefer when it comes to tricky gifts: customization! I picked up these adorable Easter Bunny Ears from the Dollar tree and immediately put my Cricut to work.
I measured the usable space of the ears; meaning, the area that I could feasibly the vinyl on and have it still be legible.
You will be able to replicate my dimensions for the "My 1st Easter" portion if you use the exact same dimensions as me:
Font: Arial Rounded Bold MT
"MY": Turned 90 degrees counterclockwise, Font Size: 24.46, Letter space: -1.5, line space: 1, Size: 0.696" x 1.234"
"1": Font Size: 72. Letter Space: -2.1, Line Space: 1, Size: 0.901" x 1.875"
"st": (both lower case): Font size: 29.33, Letter Space: -2.1, Line Space: 1, Size: 0.835" x 0.754"
"Easter": Font Size: 14.87, Letter Space: -2.1, Line Space: 1, Size: 2" x 0.391"
Attach these four layers so they cut in the proper arrangement. The total size of the attached layer should be 2.09" x 2.542".
Violet: This is likely more for reference as there's a fair chance you are not also making these for a Violet!
Font: Arial Rounded Bold MT
Font Size: 35.18, Rotate 90 degrees counter clockwise, Letter Space: -1, Line Space: -6.4, Size: 0.944" x 4.347"
I originally designed using the colors I was going to use but then I selected all layers and made them the same color so that I could could do one cut!
I am beyond pleased with the final results! This was a very easy way to make a one-of-a-kind gift for a newborn baby.
Check out our TikTok Tutorial for a brief video on making these ears and the rest of the Newborn Easter Basket I made!
Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of the baby donning her new ears as they were unable to make the trip for Easter after-all
