DOLLAR (.25) TREE EASTER BASKETS

Easter Baskets can be a super fun way to bring a little extra joy to the Easter holiday. You can buy the pre-made ones from your local Walmart or CVS OR you can make one yourself all from the Dollar Tree! (which is now actually $1.25...not letting them get off easy here). This Easter, I made three separate types of baskets, and I will go into them below!

Easter Basket #1: Dollar Tree Fillers

Check out our TikTok How-To video on this basket HERE

For my first set of baskets, the "main gift" was two candles each from Bath & Body Works plus a small hand lotion that I also got from B&BW. Now, Dollar Tree DOES have candles as well, and they actually are pretty great!, but I picked candles from B&BW because they were specific scents that the recipient enjoyed. Next, I picked up the Bunny Canvas basket and a bag of each recipient's favorite candy. For one, it was those fruity Tootsie rolls, and for the other it was gummy bears (bonus: these gummy bears were in the shape of bunnies! SCORE!) I also picked up one pack of Easter Egg sticks, a pack of 10 plastic Easter Eggs, and one bouquet of fake flowers. I added one Egg stick and one flower to the top of the basket to create a prettier, more seasonal feel than just tissue paper, and added some of the candy to the Easter eggs and spread around the inside of the basket.

Now, I already had the tissue paper at home, but you can easily pick up a bunch at the Dollar Tree as well. Total cost for each basket was under $5! Breakdown:

Basket: $1.25

Candy: $1.25

Plastic Eggs: $0.55 (since I used some for one basket, some for the others)

Flowers: $0.25 (The flowers I chose came in a bouquet of 5 stems. I used one flower per basket)

Tissue Paper: $0.052 (come in packs of 24 sheets, I used one sheet)

Candles: $1.25 (If you chose to buy from the Dollar Tree)

Protective Wrapping: This came with the candles that I purchased from B&BW, Not sure that Dollar Tree has this in stock but glass candles are very important to wrap, so make sure you you use extra tissue paper to protect the candles if you don't have any protective wrapping!

I also had my Cricut cut gift tags in the shape of bunny ears using card stock and some twine I had at home. The cost will go up if you need to purchase cardstock or twine; you can also use regular printer paper instead of cardstock, which you are more likely to have on-hand.

Basket #2 - Wrapping Upgrade

Check out our TikTok How-To video on this basket HERE

Clearly, I am a fan of Bath & Body Works. With such a wide selection of collections fragrances, it is easy to find the perfect gift for any recipient (ESPECIALLY with their very generous coupons that they send out quite frequently!) What I especially love about B&BW is their section of pre-wrapped gift baskets! This year, their Easter baskets were so stinkin' cute and included a hand soap, hand lotion, and a hand sanitizer; PERFECT choices for two recipients on my list. Once I got home I realized that, although adorable, I wanted something with a little more pizzazz! Luckily I already had a few extra supplies from my baskets above!

I took one flower and one egg stem and poked it through the opening at the top of the gift wrap to look like their gift was BLOOMING. I picked the egg color of each recipient's favorite color and made another Easter Bunny gift tag and tied off with twine. I received so many compliments on what a great idea this upgrade was and how it totally gave this gift a facelift.

I did mention how I already had these materials at home but if you have to run to the dollar tree to get a bouquet of flowers and some egg sticks, the total cost could be $2.50...Technically. You would only be using one egg and one flower so TECHNICALLY the cost is less BUT you will spend $2.50 at checkout (not including need for any cardstock or twine)

Basket #3: The Newborn

Check out our TikTok How-To video on this basket HERE

So how on Earth do you get a newborn an Easter gift?! I'm talking brand spankin' new as this baby was only three weeks old at the time of Easter. They can't play with anything yet and certainly can't eat any delicious candy SO I settled on a sweet momento instead. This adorable Easter Truck basket and Bunny ears are both available at he Dollar Tree! I stuck the Ears in the basket with some tissue paper (that I already had) and some remaining eggs from basket #1...I just did NOT fill these eggs with candy. I, of course, included one of my bunny ear tags and tied off with twine. The crazy crafter in me did not allow me to wrap up the blank ears and call it a day...I just HAD to customize them. I will do a blog post on the customization process later this week but if you chose to leave them blank (like any normal, sane person) the total cost for this simple, age-appropriate Easter Basket only cost me around $3!

My total cost was under $3.00 for this basket since I had much at home and some supplies were being split between other baskets as well but you can create this basket for under $5.00!:

Basket: $1.25

Ears: $1.25

Plastic Eggs: $0.15 (since I used only 3 eggs for this basket, the rest for the others in basket #1

Flowers: $0.25 (The flowers I chose came in a bouquet of 5 stems. I used one flower per basket)

Tissue Paper: $0.052 (I already had some at home but they come in packs of 24 sheets, I used one sheet)

Vinyl Sheets for Ear Personalization: $1.40 (I already had sheets at home but you can buy a sheet from any craft store to use on your Cricut for ~$1.40)

Cardstock and twine: varies by store, I had some on hand and you could use regular paper.
