Sacrifices
Bridesmaids. What an interesting role. What do they do? What should they do? When are they not doing enough and when is the Bride asking too much? I have been in my fair share of weddings; some in which I felt like I was part of a team, sending our dashing bride to start the rest of her life, and others in which I was made to feel like an under-appreciated servant. I always swore that when it was my time, I would make sure my bridesmaids knew exactly how much I appreciated all of their love, support, and generosity during my wedding.
Weddings are expensive for everyone involved. The Bridesmaids jobs are to help ease some burdens, but it is vital that we make it known how every action they make is beyond appreciated. I don't care how much I was spending on my wedding, (which was not a lot because I am THRIFTY) Bridesmaids gifts was not where I was going to cut corners.
Bridesmaid Gifts
I was completely in awe at the amount of work my girls put into my Bachelorette Party in Nashville, Tennessee. The meticulous planning and devotion to my happiness was truly more than I deserved! I knew there was absolutely no way I was heading on that trip empty handed! While I wanted most of my trip to be a surprise, I knew my Maid of Honor had booked a Pedal Bike adventure...HIGHLY recommend, by the way. For the Petal Bike, you had to bring your own alcohol so I thought it would be fun to also bring cups!...but let's not stop there, fellow brides. The cups OBVIOUSLY have to be customized with our names, with colors picked specifically for them...and why don't we stuff the cups with a bunch of goodies for the plane?
The Cup
I found these cups at, you guessed it, Dollar Tree. I originally found those standard clear tumblers with the straw but, as I learned very quickly, those break SO easily. These cups were a major score! They were the perfect size for hefty day drinking but also left plenty of room for goodies. The straws were wide and bendy which is also more convenient for drinking while pedaling a bike. I also liked a bigger size cup so I could make our names large and legible.
For the names, I used Cricut Silver Glitter Adhesive Vinyl. The font is "Saddlebags" available for free on Dafont.com
A similar yet more grunge/distorted version of this font is "Nashville" also available for free on Dafont.com
Stuff the Cup
I strolled through the Dollar Tree to start figuring out what travel tools might be helpful on a flight. I packed in travel tissues, floss sticks, mini Advil packs, sticks of gum, peppermints, hair ties, Mentos, and butterscotch candies.
After the universal basics, I added everyone's favorite candy/candies to the cups in addition to a Toothbrush and a travel case! this was great because now no one had to remember to pack their toothbrushes! To top it off, I added a ziplock bag on the top so that everyone could store their remaining goodies when they wanted to use their cup.
BONUS:
These were super fun and easy to make! I ordered a pack of sunglasses off Amazon and used my Cricut to make some magic! We saw this idea on TikTok and knew we had to try it. I changed my Venmo name to a special Bachelorette handle and also changed my Venmo profile picture. We wore the sunglasses all around the city and also put it on our shirt sleeve! In addition to wearing them, we posted snaps on our stories. Ladies, this works! We got gifted over $200 in drinking money!
How can Nicole & Dimed Help you create this look?
As you know, N&D offers COMPLETE customization and creativity to ANY ideas you have, or don't have! We will work with you every step of the way and help you discover ideas or preferences that you didn't even know you had.
With us, you have three options when it comes to these Bachelorette Cups
Package 1: The Basic - We design the SVG/Cut file(s) (the name decals) you need, email it to you, you cut at home and do with it what you want! You can follow our DIY tips throughout this article to design and fill your cups how you want. If you have a specific cup that you would like to use for this, all you have to do is send us the dimensions and we will create a look that fits it perfectly.
Package 2: The Training Wheels - We design the SVG/Cut file(s) (the name decals) and print/cut for you and ship it to your location. This option is ideal for those who do not have access to a Cricut or other vinyl cutter OR are unsure about what types of vinyl to buy. With this option, you still are able to pick your cups and fill them at home or use cups that you already have!
Package 3: The Many Hats - With this option, we do EVERYTHING for you! We design, we cut, we buy the cups, we adhere the name decals, we fill the cups, we ship! Some people simply cannot craft or have no interest in it; and that's fine! I have planned many parties, I know that sometimes it is just easier to have things done for you. While this is our most expensive option, our costs are still far lower than any competitors because we pride ourselves in finding the best quality items for the lowest price. (but if you want us to spend top dollar, we GLADLY will ;) ) You can look at our cups or other blog posts and tell us the types of cups you would like and some ideas of what you'd like us to fill in them. With this option, you will tell us a bit about your trip and we will make suggestions about what we think should be included. We can replicate our cups seen here with some customizing, or we can work together to invent something completely new and never seen! The best part of our jobs is being able to invent something new!
