"It's MomOsa...not MomoSA" -Hermione Granger...sorta
You know what we say here, it's always the little, subtle touches that make the event! For my Bridal Shower, I walked around with this adorable (yet completely impractical) "Bride" straw, drinking my rum punch to my heart's content.
For my baby shower, there will be no rum for me. Yet, I still wanted to find a cute way to jazz up my drink...since my drinks have been dull for about 34 weeks at this point.
I came up with the crazy idea to drink out of a baby bottle for the entirety of the shower (nipple removed of course...because THAT would be ridiculous) and use my Cricut to label it something "MOM" related. Let's think; what will everyone be drinking at a shower? Mimosas! And what do I love more than anything? Puns! BEHOLD: The MOMosa Baby Bottle:
DIY or BUY:
This truly might be one of the easiest DIYs I have EVER done, but if you do not have a Cricut or do not have the time, head over to my Etsy shop and you can purchase the SVG file from me there!
IF you do not have access to a Cricut or vinyl cutter and would like to purchase a PRE-CUT "MOMosa" vinyl sticker from us to ship directly to you, please contact us!
First, I obtained a simple, clear baby bottle from the Dollar .25 Tree. I chose clear because we are not finding out the gender of the baby. You can pick whatever color you want!
Next I typed "MOMosa" into my Cricut design space using the font "Luna" (available 100% FREE on DaFont.com) I chose "Luna" because it is a fun, kid-like font, it is bold enough for the Cricut to cut and still have the end product be legible, and it is the font that I used for much of our signage and decor.
I had a Rose Gold adhesive vinyl that I wanted to use (surprisingly, from the Dollar .25 Tree!) but I wanted to make sure that you could read the letters from a distance so I knew that I had to have a dark contrasting color behind the MOMosa. I used the "Offset" feature to create a seamless, perfectly aligned back layer to support the text layer. Below are my measurements for:
"MOMosa" Text Layer
"MOMosa" Offset Layer
"MOMosa" Offset width (~1")
Here, I always chose to make all layers the same color so they can be cut on the same mat, but how you arrange your cutting is up to you. (You can see this step in our tiktok video)
Next, I layer the pink vinyl on top of the black:
Then, I apply the transfer tape to the Vinyl, apply to bottle, remove transfer tape from bottle, and Viola!
Look how cute it is!
