Need a gift?
So you need to give a gift. You want it to be aesthetically pleasing and personal but don't have hundreds of dollars to spend? Gift baskets are the best way to do that! You can fill them with cute little tchotchkes surrounding one main gift and find everything at your local value stores. A thoughtful gesture does not have to break the bank!
Brainstorming:
What does your gift recipient like? Mine loved our local Mexican restaurant, Margaritas, and the color pink. What does your friend like? Ideas:
- Movie nights
- Spa days
- Working out
- Wine/Beer/Specific Alcohol
- Coffee/Tea
- Cheese
- Swimming
Main Gift:
Here, I will be getting them a gift card to the restaurant I mentioned above.
Ideas for you:
- Movie tickets or a projector if you're feeling really generous!
- Spa/Massage gift certificate OR top of the line home products
- Sneakers or specific equipment they have been yearning for
- High end bottle of their preferred liquor
- Coffee Machine or Tea Pot
- Personalized Cheese plate
- Pool float or bathing suit
Secondary Gifts:
I got my friend two personalized Margarita Glasses a margarita mix from the brand "Mr. & Mrs." since this was an engagement gift!
Ideas for you:
- Popcorn container/holder
- Foot tub or bathrobe/towel
- yoga mat, jump robe, blocks, resistance band, personalized water bottle
- Wine glasses/Beer mugs/etc.
- Mugs, Bags of coffee, tea bags
- Types of cheese
- Towel, cover-up, big hat
BONUS: Use your Cricut to personalize any of these items with the recipient's name!
Here, I used the Cricut and Armor-Etch on Margarita glasses.
Fillers:
Fillers are the tiny little details that you add to the basket that are practical, cohesive, and bring a gift from a simple present to a whole gift-getting experience! Most filler items can/should be purchased from your local value store such as Dollar Tree. I filled my basket with various fiesta themed items that I found around the store such as stirrers, desk ornament, ring holder, pot holders, and a platter.
Ideas for you:
- Microwave popcorn bags, boxes of candy
- nail files, cuticle pushers, nail clippers, toe separators, bottles of nail polish, eye mask, hair towel
- Sweat towel, headbands, hair ties, socks, shoe laces
- Bottle opener, wine glass tags, wine glass markers, fun-shaped ice cube trays
- Tea infuser, sugar packets, coffee syrups, tea spoon and dish, coffee filters, milk frother
- Cheese knives, crackers, chips
- Sunglasses, koozies, goggles
Basket:
I just picked any-old basket from the Dollar Tree but your basket can remain on-theme! Say you're doing a spa basket; you can put everything in the foot tub. Movie basket? put everything in a jumbo popcorn holder. Sky is the limit!
Add in some "grass" filler or confetti to the bottom and boom! you're done! You can also add cellophane around the basket and a bow for a more travel-friendly option.
Viola!
Lastly, I found some Cactus battery-operated lights that I wrapped around the basket and that is IT! Gift Baskets are a super easy and thoughtful way to ring in your loved one's special occasion!
