Signage:
Yeah, it's important. I think that no event is complete with adequate signage....ESPECIALLY a welcome sign. But have you seen the prices of some signage?!?! It's outrageous! Fortunately for you, you can create a completely custom sign for little to no cost.
Supplies & Cost:
Being massive crafters, my mom and I had ALL of these supplies between our two houses; but, even if you don't, you can still complete this look for quite cheap!
You will need:
Cricut/Cameo/any Vinyl Cutter (or good handwriting!)
Vinyl
Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue
Tray
White Paint & brushes
Misc. Greenery
Costs:
Cricuts and other Vinyl cutters can get pretty pricey, so always look for sales! If purchasing a machine for one project is not in the cards for you right now, you can purchase a pre-cut vinyl decal from us!
Email us at nicoleanddimedcontact@gmail.com to get started!
Vinyl - I only needed around 3 sheets of vinyl for this project which run for a little under $2 each at most craft stores for a 12x12 sheet.
Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue - There are PLENTY of Gun options available out there that can be found for as low as $2.99! Check out Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, Walmart, Etc.! You will definitely need a lot of glue to make sure that the greenery sticks. Most bags can be found for around $7. Make sure you find the glue that is the correct size for your gun.
Tray - There are plenty of trays and chargers available at the $1.25 Tree but they are all smaller than the tray I used. This tray, LOL, was actually what our bagel catering order came on for some party we had. We knew we'd have a use for it one day!
White Paint & brushes - I used $1.25 Tree white acrylic paint and $1.25 Tree brushes!
Misc. Greenery - These can also get expensive. We were able to scoop some up on sale for $10 but $1.25 Tree has some great options for floral and greenery arrangements. I would also check Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, Walmart, Etc.!
Assembly: Easy as 1, 2, 3!...4,5,6
Paint Tray
Cut Vinyl (or purchase pre-cut from us!)
Place Vinyl on sign...BE CAREFUL with the transfer tape! As seen in our TikTok how-to video, I only apply pressure to the letters, NOT the whole transfer tape area to avoid peeling any paint off
Hot Glue any greenery or floral around the rim, overlapping onto the main area of the sign
Drill holes in the top and thread the twine (or ribbon of your choice) through the holes
Hang and display!
Display
We used a "Backdrop Display" like the picture below. The actual one that we purchased was on Clearance for only $20.99! So that exact one is not available; BUT search "Backdrop Display" at your preferred shop and tons will come up. They are super easy to assemble and
disassemble/store!
We purchased a woodlands theme SHOWER CURTAIN, yes, you read that right, to use as the backdrop and hung our sign directly in the middle!
We surrounded the Backdrop Display bars in this magnificent ballon garland using balloons from SHEIN.com !! Shein has AMAZING options for balloon packs but make sure you order with plenty of time ahead since their shipping time is unpredictable.
While I will be doing a post in the future on how I created this Garland (and all my other balloon work)
I used this Balloon Garland pack which came with 164 balloons for only $14! and these Woodland Animals Balloon Pack set of 4 balloons for only $4!
Also used these adorable (and on-theme) "Oh Baby" paper fans to hang from the top bar and balloons. They are from Hobby Lobby and are $3.99 for 4 fans!
And that's it! This looks super cute behind a candy bar :)
