Yes, everyone knows who the Momma-to-Be is at the Baby Shower; but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't show some flare and wear a fancy pin! You only have your first baby ONCE, so make it special and embrace every moment of this special day.

If you're anything like me, you wanted a fancy pin but didn't want the same old big curly bow that all other mommas don. I wanted something that fit my theme but also incorporated all colors and fonts that "sparked joy". ...Really any excuse to cruise through the paper section at a craft store is what I was going for.

Step 1: Acquire Supplies

Many people would have designed their idea and then went shopping for the supplies but I like to see what supplies are available and what I can work with before finalizing a plan. I picked up 6 pieces of craft paper from Michael's. Five of the sheets were 12"x12" and One of the Sheets was 8.5"x11". OF COURSE I needed a healthy dose of glitter, which I expected to give me the most troubles cutting, but the only difficult cut was the Holographic gold paper! I wound up heading back to the story and purchasing a flat gold sheet.

Step 2: Design

Next I used Cricut Design Space to design...I know, I'm crazy. Normally, I would design in one of my Graphic Design softwares but I just figured this would save me less time when actually going to cut. I found the perfect leaf shape I wanted for FREE in the Cricut Image Search feature.

- I made the first leaf pretty large at 6.5"H x 5"W.

-I then duplicated that first leaf, "sliced" the stem off the duplicated file, and then sized it down to be a smaller leaf.

-Then I duplicated the stemless leaf and made that my third and final leaf. This leaf will have the names on it!

NEXT, I found the perfect vine shape I wanted ALSO FOR FREE in the Cricut Image Search feature.

Here, I duplicated the vine so I have three total vines then I just positioned and rotated to the leaves.

I found the pine cone on Google, removed the BG using https://remove-white-background.imageonline.co/ , converted to .svg on my computer, uploaded as a "cut" to Cricut Design Space.

Next I switched EVERYTHING to "Print then Cut" BECAUSE I wanted to have a visual of what paper I wanted where. I knew I wanted the birch paper to be the "title" leaf because it was hte lightest but after that, I couldn't tell!

So I uploaded "sparkly brown", "sparkly green", "gold foil" "embossed brown" "birch" and "green" pictures to the design space and "sliced" to the shapes I thought would look good

Once I had everything in order, I "Grouped" this all together and duplicated it.

After duplicating it, I changed everything in the duplicate to "CUT". I made selected colors as close to the original leaf as possible to make my life easier and when cutting. You want to make sure that you have different colors selected here so the Design Space knows how many mats to cut!

Once that was all set, I "grouped" and duplicated x4. I needed 5 pins total.

I added the "titles" to each pin set (make sure you select "PEN" and not "CUT"!!! using the font "Rainbow Saturday"; which can be found here: https://www.1001fonts.com/rainbow-saturday-font.html FREE FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY!!!!

The "Mema" and "Oma" fonts are "Winter Princess"

Both of these fonts wrote really well but I did have to go back and fill in the holes in the Rainbow Saturday fonts myself. I do have a pretty steady hand and dabble is calligraphy so this wasn't a problem for me. But the Winter Princess font was perfect.

Step 3: Cut

Let the Cricut work it's magic!

CUT SETTINGS:

Glitter papers: Turn dial to "Custom" -> "Glitter Cardstock" -> Change pressure to "More"

If you can't change the pressure, just click the "C" again before unload the mat.

Colored/Embossed Cardstock: Cardstock+, cut twice!

Holographic: Boy, did this take some work. Wound up using "Holographic Art Board" found under "Custom". Pressure set to "More"...keep a CLOSE eye on this cut the entire time.

Birch Paper: Paper+ and a FINE TIP Pen

Step 4: ASSEMBLE!!

I tried many adhesives but the only ones that stuck (pun intended) were hot glue for the vines and actual bar pin, double sided tape + hot glue for the leaves, double sided tape for the pine cone.

First, I hot glued the vines to the big leaf.

Next, double sided tape the middle leaf down and use a little hot glue around the edges for extra security.

Repeat previous step for the "title" leaf, making sure not to smudge any writing.

Finally, Double sided tape the pine cone

Lastly, hot glue the "bar pin" to the back
